Research and Application of UI Interface Design for the Catering Needs of the Elderly in China

In the context of the progressively intensifying global population aging, China witnesses a substantial number of elderly individuals, and this demographic is expanding at a rapid rate, thereby precipitating a cascade of social and economic ramifications. Concurrently, the assurance of the dining requisites of the elderly has assumed an ever more preponderant status. Notwithstanding that the elderly meal assistance service has achieved certain accomplishments, a plethora of problems still persist. Notably, there is a dearth of UI interface design software applications in the market that are specifically attuned to the dining needs of the elderly. This essay zeroes in on the UI interface design catering to the dining requirements of the elderly. Via an extensive literature review and comprehensive questionnaire investigations, a profound insight into the aging trajectory and the dining necessities of the elderly is procured. The KJ methodology and the KANO model are harnessed to execute demand analysis, delineate user journey blueprints, and ascertain the areas of concern and difficulties that the elderly encounter during the utilization of dining applications. Additionally, a competitive product analysis is conducted on the affiliated software applications of meal delivery and catering services, as well as those of healthy diet services.Subsequently, a suite of UI interface design strategies is proposed. For instance, the nature - friendly color palette is formulated based on an in-depth exploration of the color predilections of the elderly. The adjustable font parameters are contrived with due consideration to the visual impairments commonly associated with the elderly. And the icon design norms are established in accordance with the idiosyncrasies of the elderly's visual processing capabilities. The overarching aim is to fabricate a meal assistance application that can efficaciously address the dining needs of the elderly and elevate their overall quality of life. This research proffers valuable guidelines and references for the UI design of the elderly meal assistance service and bears a positive and far - reaching significance for optimizing the dining experience of the elderly.
