Surface Coverage Path Planning for Robots Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning

To address the low coverage and slow convergence of existing path planning algorithms for cleaning robots on complex surfaces, an improved Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm-based coverage path planning method is proposed. The results show that the improved PPO algorithm can effectively complete the coverage path planning for the robot's end-effector in cleaning tasks on complex surfaces.

Abstract

To address the low coverage and slow convergence of existing path planning algorithms for cleaning robots on complex surfaces, an improved Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm-based coverage path planning method is proposed. The results show that the improved PPO algorithm can effectively complete the coverage path planning for the robot's end-effector in cleaning tasks on complex surfaces.
