ON THE PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL TOWNS (BASED ON THE MATERIALS OF SMALL TOWNS OF THE IVANOVO REGION)

The article provides a comprehensive description of the current situation of a small town as a specific settlement unit and a special socioeconomic complex. In the course of the conducted research, a range of traditional problems of the functioning of a small city has been identified. As a result of the analysis, the main research lines for the search for ways to revive small towns are identified, and the author’s positionon this issue is formulated, including the development of the personal sector of the economy, improving the quality of urban space and the development of a virtual work and leisure space in small towns.
