World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) News and Events
WORLD GASTROENTEROLOGY ORGANISATION (WGO) NEWS AND EVENTS World Digestive Health Day 2025 Each year, the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) celebrates World Digestive Health Day (WDHD) by launching a global public health campaign to increase awareness about the prevention, prevalence, diagnosis, management, and treatment of digestive diseases and disorders. This year’s campaign, Your Digestive Health: Nourish to Flourish, culminates on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Digestive health is at the core of overall well-being. The digestive system serves as the body’s gateway to nourishment, processing essential nutrients that sustain energy, immunity, and optimal function. By adopting healthy eating habits and making conscious lifestyle changes, individuals can take charge of their digestive health, reducing the risk of gastrointestinal issues and fostering a vibrant, balanced life. This year’s theme underscores the multifaceted aspects of nourishment—not just through food, but also through education, self-care, and community support. By promoting a better understanding of digestive health, WGO aims to inspire individuals, health care professionals, and communities to prioritize wellness and embrace sustainable habits that support long-term health. WGO invites you to engage with the campaign by using the hashtags #WDHD2025 and #NourishToFlourish on social media. Share your perspectives, experiences, and creative approaches to digestive health, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive global conversation. In addition, WGO encourages participants to utilize Selfie Cards, a fun and impactful way to spread awareness. Take a photo with a short message about digestive health and share it with the global community. Submissions from all over the world will be featured on WGO’s social media channels and in future publications. The WDHD website (http://wdhd.worldgastroenterology.org) remains an invaluable resource throughout the year, offering comprehensive information about the 2025 campaign and previous WDHD initiatives. Whether you’re a health care professional, educator, or member of the public, we invite you to explore these resources and help make a positive impact on digestive health in your community. Together, let’s Nourish to Flourish and create a healthier world for everyone.
