Gamificación estructural y su incidencia en la comprensión lectora en inglés

This case report presents an academic exercise of implementing a strategy, based on structural gamification, to strengthen reading comprehension skills in English with ninth grade students, using ClassCraft®. A descriptive study was carried out with a mixed re- search approach, with a pre-experimental, pretest-posttest design. The strategy was developed through five didactic sequences sup- ported by vocabulary content, grammatical structures and exercises based on a world of adventures with fantastic characters. When the strategy was applied, there was an improvement of 57.14%, results that support the hypothesis that reading comprehension in English increases when implementing structural gamification in the classroom. The t-test showed that the difference between the test results was statistically significant, providing evidence that the tested proposal strengthens reading comprehension levels in English. In addition, the satisfaction survey reflected a high level of motivation.

A descriptive study was carried out with a mixed re- search approach, with a pre-experimental, pretest-posttest design. The t-test showed that the difference between the test results was statistically significant, providing evidence that the tested proposal strengthens reading comprehension levels in English. In addition, the satisfaction survey reflected a high level of motivation.
