NUMERICAL MODELING OF THE SOLID WASTE GASIFICATION

The article presents the results of studying the gasification process of five types of solid municipal and agricultural waste that are generally similar in the content of the main elements: sunflower husk, low-value wood waste (brushwood, deadwood), wooden containers, sunflower meal, and packaging cardboard waste. The process was modeled using the equilibrium gasification model based on the criterion of the minimum value of the isobaric-isothermal potential, the Gibbs energy. The Peng-Robinson model for non-ideal (real) gas components was used to calculate the gasification process parameters. Data were obtained on the temperature range of the gasification process with complete carbon conversion. As the modeling showed, the behavior of the selected waste depends to a greater extent on the process temperature (the optimal temperature found is 800-900 ºС), the excess oxidizer coefficient (the best indicator is 0.2), and the gasifying agent itself, than on the type of waste.
