Radiation-influenced electromagnetohydrodynamic flow of time-fractional casson fluid with heat and mass transfer over a permeable vertical riga plate

The primary objective of this study is to theoretically investigate the flow of Casson fluid over a permeable vertical Riga plate. This work critically examines the application of Fourier's and Fick's laws for the first time in analyzing the free convection flow of a generalized Casson fluid across a porous Riga plate. The flow dynamics are explored in the context of a porous medium and its permeability. The Riga plate is characterized by a spanwise-aligned arrangement of permanent magnets and electrodes mounted on a flat surface, generating Lorentz forces parallel to the array that decay exponentially with distance perpendicular to the plate. The fluid is assumed to be electrically conductive. Simultaneous heat and mass transfer phenomena are also analyzed. The governing flow regime is formulated using a set of partial differential equations, which are non-dimensionalized through the introduction of appropriate dimensionless variables and boundary conditions. The classical dimensionless model is extended by incorporating fractional derivatives based on generalized Fick's and Fourier's laws. The Laplace transform technique is employed to derive analytical solutions for the velocity, temperature, and concentration distributions. The effects of various embedded parameters on the velocity, temperature, and concentration fields are graphically illustrated and thoroughly discussed. Additionally, expressions for skin friction, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number are computed and presented in tabular form for further analysis.
