Polaritonic metasurfaces

In this talk, we discuss our recent progress on the design, modeling, fabrication and characterization of polaritonic heterostructures featuring strong coupling between light and material excitations. In particular, I will discuss the role of geometrical rotations, twisting and broken symmetries in controlling the light coupling and enabling spin-selective responses at the nanoscale and in the far-field, leveraging both the crystal structure of 2D materials and photonic structures engineered at the nanoscale.

Abstract

In this talk, we discuss our recent progress on the design, modeling, fabrication and characterization of polaritonic heterostructures featuring strong coupling between light and material excitations. In particular, I will discuss the role of geometrical rotations, twisting and broken symmetries in controlling the light coupling and enabling spin-selective responses at the nanoscale and in the far-field, leveraging both the crystal structure of 2D materials and photonic structures engineered at the nanoscale.
