CHINESE BAMBOO METAPHORS: A CULTURAL COGNITIVE PERSPECTIVE
This study explores bamboo metaphors in Chinese culture from a cultural cognitive linguistic perspective, focusing on qualities like resilience, integrity, and humility. Employing the framework of conceptual metaphor theory, it examines how bamboo serves as a vehicle for expressing abstract qualities such as resilience, integrity, and humility. It analyzes the cognitive processes behind these metaphors, shedding light on the relationship between language, culture, and cognition and highlighting cultural specificity in metaphorical conceptualization.
