A Comparative Study of Chest X-Ray and CT Pulmonary Angiography (CTPA) in the Diagnosis of Suspected Pulmonary Embolism: A Case Series of 30 Patients
Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a life-threatening condition characterized by the obstruction of pulmonary arteries by thrombi. The diagnosis of PE remains challenging, and imaging techniques such as chest X-ray (CXR) and computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) are commonly used. This case series aims to compare the diagnostic accuracy of chest X-ray and CTPA in 30 patients with suspected pulmonary embolism. We assessed clinical outcomes, the sensitivity and specificity of each imaging technique, and their respective roles in clinical management.
