GRAPHICAL-ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR STUDYING THE ATTACKING CAPABILITIES OF RADIAL-AXIAL HIGH-EXPLOSIVE FRAGMENT FIELDS

The article considers a number of main factors that determine the probability of hitting enemy personnel in personal armor protection, light-type shelters, including lightly armored vehicles, when exposed to the fragmentation fields of radial-axial high-explosive fragmentation shells. A algorithm for calculating the probability of hitting enemy personnel with one fragment is also presented. And finally, the idea of a graphical-analytical method for determining the probability of hitting enemy personnel with one fragment is presented, which consists in the fact that the set of directions of possible flight of a fragment to the object of impact is divided into subsets by the number of obstacles and protection. After that, the required value of the probability of hitting enemy personnel with one fragment is determined. The main result of this study is the development of an algorithm for calculating the probability of hitting one infantryman with one fragment located in individual armor protection or light-type shelter. The proposed algorithm takes into account the geometric characteristics of the target, the properties of fragments, the characteristics of light-type protective equipment and shelters. To refine the calculations and take into account various factors affecting the defeat process, the authors propose a graph-analytical method. This method allows for a detailed analysis of the trajectories of fragment movement and to determine the probability of hitting, taking into account the number of obstacles and the type of protection in the path of the fragment. The key result of the study is an algorithm for calculating the probability of hitting one infantryman with one fragment of a radial-axial high-explosive fragmentation projectile. The proposed algorithm takes into account the geometric characteristics of the target, the properties of fragments, the characteristics of protective equipment and shelters. The obtained research results can be used for: assessing the effectiveness of various types of weapons, optimizing combat tactics, developing new means of individual armor protection and shelters. Keywords: fragmentation field, probability, radial-axial high-explosive fragmentation shells, ammunition, fragment, graphical-analytical method.
