Diagnosis of Acute Macular Neuroretinopathy by Multimodal Fundus Imaging

Acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) is a rare disease characterized by the neuroepithelium lesion of macula. There have been few case reports related to it. This article reports a case of AMN based on multimodal fundus imaging including ultra-wide field scan laser ophthalmoscope, swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography, and adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscope (AO-SLO). AO-SLO could observe the damage characteristics of photoreceptor cells in AMN lesions in vivo at the cellular level. This is the first domestic report on the manifestation of AMN assessed using AO-SLO, combined with a literature review, aiming to enhance ophthalmologists’ understanding of this rare disease.
