Sustainable high-powered Computing: A Comprehensive Framework for Quantifying and Mitigating Environmental Impacts

High-performance computing (HPC) has experienced rapid growth in recent years, resulting in increased energy consumption and carbon emissions alongside intensifying resource demands. The research team has created a model system that analyzes HPC environmental impact reduction as part of scenario-based assessments. We examine the energy mix through CIQM-HPC, a carbon impact quantification model. The system dynamics' carbon emission growth prediction model (HPC-CEGP) enables us to forecast energy requirements and emissions under several anticipated growth models. Experts predict that energy consumption will reach 1,200 MWH during the year 2030. Using clean energy will expand renewable energy by 8% annually while maintaining carbon emissions at 45,000 kg of CO2. The DEIAM model is a dynamic Environmental Impact Assessment tool to evaluate cooling water conditions, electronic waste generation, and land utilization consequences. HPC tracking lets us determine its environmental impact and shows how to anticipate upcoming developments for developing sustainable practices.
