Construction of a relationship model between surface errors and optical performance for polymer optical components
Geometric deviations in polymer optical components can degrade the imaging quality of the system. This paper focuses on typical optical products, whose imaging quality is mainly affected by low-frequency surface figure deviations. Therefore, a key modeling analysis of the relationship between surface figure deviations and imaging quality is conducted. We have established a calculation model for imaging quality based on three-dimensional surface deviations. Taking precision optical components as an example, we delve into the mechanisms by which differences in surface deviations on concave and convex surfaces, as well as in the flow direction and perpendicular direction. On this basis, we have successfully constructed a relationship model between surface errors and optical performance of polymer optical components, and meticulously evaluated the applicability of indicators such as Peak-to-Valley (PV) and Root Mean Square (RMS) in assessing the imaging quality of injection-molded products.
