Nồng độ NGAL huyết tương và mối liên quan với một số đặc điểm của bệnh nhân viêm tụy cấp có tổn thương thận cấp

Background: Acute kidney injury is a complication of acute pancreatitis. NGAL (Neutrophil Gelatinase - Associated Lipocalin) biomarkers appear early to help diagnose acute kidney injury in patients with acute pancreatitis. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study of 51 patients with acute pancreatitis with acute kidney injury, 168 patients with acute pancreatitis without acute kidney injury and 35 healthy people as a healthy control group, from October 2021 to September 2023. Results: Plasma NGAL concentrations of the acute pancreatitis group with acute kidney injury were higher than the group without acute kidney injury and were higher than the healthy control group, the difference was statistically significant (p < 0, 01). Plasma NGAL concentrations gradually increased with stages of acute kidney injury. Plasma NGAL levels of patients with acute pancreatitis and acute kidney injury were statistically significantly related (p < 0.05) to the classification of acute pancreatitis according to Balthazar, classified according to acute pancreatic edema and necrosis and severity of acute pancreatitis. Conclusion: NGAL biomarkers have a statistically significant association with clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with acute pancreatitis and acute kidney injury.
