Recrystallization mechanism and phase precipitation of Ti55511 titanium alloy by novel thermal process
This study aims to investigate the microstructure evolution of Ti55511 alloy with black spot. The morphology and orientation of β black spot grain were regulated by the electric-added deformation. The α precipitation within β grain is also investigated by the following heat treatment. The results show that the dynamic recovery still plays an important role, and the dynamic recrystallization is gradually significant with the increase of deformation temperature and strain. After the following heat treatment, the α phase is precipitated within the deformed β grain or along boundary. By the appropriate thermal process, the distribution uniformity of α phase has been significantly improved as compared with the initial microstructure.
