Extracellular Vesicles in Gut‐Bone Axis: Novel Insights and Therapeutic Opportunities for Osteoporosis
Extracellular Vesicles Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are cell-released nanocarriers with a phospholipid bilayer structure that play key roles in regulating physiological and pathological processes. Both intestinal microorganisms and intestinal organoids can secrete EVs, namely bacterial extracellular vesicles (BEVs) and intestinal organoid extracellular vesicles (IOEVs). Both natural and engineered BEVs or IOEVs can regulate the development of osteoporosis and the bone metabolism.
