A EVOLUÇÃO HISTÓRICA DO DIREITO À CIDADE
The formation and evolution of contemporary cities, especially in Brazil, go hand in hand with deep and complex problems involving the morphological and social formations of spaces. Therefore, this study’s general objective is to analyze relevant issues of the right to the city, and the citizen’s right to place, developed to meet the needs of space, globalization and inclusive, quality and sustainable citizenship, addressing perspectives of the city and living in Henri Lefebvre. To achieve this objective, an exploratory descriptive bibliographical research was carried out as a methodological resource, through a theoretical survey carried out in the following databases SciELO, LILACS, PubMed, Google Scholar, books, reliable online sources and private collection material, including studies and various authors duly cited. The study concludes that the right to the city is the result of the evolution of time, human evolution and aspects associated with globalization and expansion of spaces, influenced by aspects of internationalization and realization of the citizen’s right to the place they belong, developed to meet their needs. Where cities are reformulated not as a capitalist space, but rather, designed to guarantee social well-being, moving on to thinking about a city reformulated to serve everyone, mitigating the reality of structural violence. Adapting urban life and the needs of the population, incorporated into the rights of space and the city into the citizen’s right, obeying citizenship bonds and rights of dignity, through mandatory action by governments to improve urban mobility, walkability, accessibility and guarantee the right to live.
