Paisajes aldeanos continuos. Prospecciones arqueológicas en San José de Chasquivil (Tucumán, Argentina).

This paper presents the archaeological surveys carried out in the locality of San José de Chasquivil, located on the eastern slope of the Cumbres Calchaquíes (Tucumán, Argentina). The aim of the paper is to discuss the ways in which pre-Hispanic village landscapes materialised in an area of study that has been scarcely mentioned in the discipline. For this purpose, we used strategies that included pedestrian routes and analogue records -unified registration forms, tape measures, compasses- and digital records -unmanned aerial vehicles, Garmin GPS, mobile GIS-. The results obtained allowed us to characterise a notable village concentration corresponding to the First Millennium CE, with particular characteristics in relation to others in nearby sectors such as Anfama or La Ciénega. There are also some records from the Second Millennium CE, but to a lesser extent. Likewise, the results presented here are a reminder of the importance of advancing with studies in under-researched sectors to approach pre-Hispanic social dynamics in all their complexity.
