CLINICAL STUDY OF DONOR SITE MORBIDITY OF BUCCAL MUCOSAL GRAFT URETHROPLASTY FOR URETHRALSTRICTURE DISEASE
Background: Urethral stricture disease is a common urological issue with complex management. Graft urethroplasty is effective for penile and bulbar urethral strictures. Various grafts, including buccal mucosa, are used for urethral repair and complex stulas like epispadias, hypospadias, and rectovesical stulas. To Aim: assess donor site morbidity in buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty for urethral stricture disease. Ev Objectives: aluate early complications (bleeding, pain, swelling, diet resumption, wound concerns) and late complications (numbness, infection, mouth opening issues, smiling difculties, dry mouth, post-meal swelling salivary duct obstruction). This Materials & Methods: prospective observational study included patients( 25 )undergoing oral mucosa graft urethroplasty at the Urology Department, Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Foundation, from June 2022 to September 2024. Postoperative complications were assessed using a validated semiquantitative questionnaire (score: 0–3). Patients were evaluated at 48 hours and one week for early complications, and at two weeks, one month, and four months for late complications during followup visits. Our surgical success rate was 92% while failed in 2cases (8%)
