ACCURACY AND QUALITY OF ROLLING THREADS WITH LONGITUDINAL FEED HEADS
The article is devoted to studying the issues of productivity, accuracy and quality of thread surfaces knurled by rollers with annular turns when fed along the axis of the part. Errors are established that must be taken into account by introducing corrections for the profile dimensions and pitch of the knurling rollers, regulating the beating, etc. Rolling changes the structure and creates a hardening surface layer of the metal that forms the thread profile. The versatility of the process allows the method to be recommended for rolling both external and internal threads.
