The Effect of Non-Specific Neck Pain on Cervical Range of Motion
In order to explore the effect of non-specific neck pain on cervical spine motion, non-specific neck pain patients and healthy people were recruited as subjects, and a three-dimensional motion capture system was used to capture the neck flexion-extension, lateral flexion, and rotation motions of the subjects, to analyse the motion characteristics of different head and neck motions, to summarise the motion patterns, and to compare the difference between the neck pain patients and the healthy group, in order to assess the effect of non-specific neck pain on the cervical range of motion. The conclusions showed that during flexion and extension movements, neck pain patients were accompanied by larger lateral flexion deviation angle (P < 0.05) and rotation range of motion (P < 0.05), and the head was always tilted anteriorly (P < 0.05). Patients with neck pain performed differently than the healthy group, usually showing a smaller range of motion accompanied by abnormal rotation or rotation and error.
