USING LEAN- SIX SIGMA TO MAXIMIZE UTILIZATION OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PROJECTS IN ACCORDING TO STANDARDS ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

The research aims to clarify the importance of using modern management programs such as “Lean Six Sigma” within wastewater treatment projects in the Arab Republic of Egypt to maximize the benefit from these projects, taking into account adherence to environmental management standards, through a field study of the wastewater treatment project in the second yellow mountain. The largest wastewater treatment project in the world with a capacity of 2.5 million cubic meters per day. The goal of using this model of modern management systems was to achieve the following: developing the management system for these projects and providing the necessary and sufficient information to help in making sound decisions at the right time. Working to maximize the use of available resources to reduce costs and increase the amount of treated water with the same available capacity, as this has a positive impact on the environment and sustainable development. To achieve the goal of the study, the researchers used the analytical statistical approach based on the field study by collecting and analyzing the performance level of the equipment used in the project during the study period before and after the proposed statistical model. The study reached the following results: There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of application of the Lean Six Sigma methodology in wastewater treatment projects and the level of efficiency in these projects, environmental quality of life, and sustainable development. The researchers proposed a number of recommendations that aim to benefit from the outcomes .
