“The Scarlet Letter B”: A qualitative study to improve health care provider education for patients who are blind or low-vision
Our findings confirm and expand previous calls for improved education regarding the health care needs for patients who are blind or low vision. Most significantly, we draw from recent literature in health professions education to propose training interventions targeted to the training needs identified via thematic analysis. We advocate for educational design and implementation that is community-engaged and centers the patient who is blind or low vision as the educator.
