Value foundations of preventing non-constructive risk-taking behavior in adolescents

The aim of this research is to identify the value foundations of preventing non-constructive risk-taking behavior in adolescents, which is considered a voluntary activity carried out in conditions of uncertainty and possible danger of negative medical, psychological, and social consequences for life and health due to the likelihood of a negative outcome when achieving a specific goal. Sources concerning the value-based justification of preventive activities in relation to non-constructive risk-taking behavioral manifestations in adolescents are analyzed. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the concretization of the methodological support for the prevention of non-constructive risk-taking behavior in adolescents based on the substantive basis of the axiological approach, embodied in the principles of humanization, sociality, and natural conformity. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the value orientations implemented within the framework of the methodological justification of the process of preventing non-constructive risk-taking behavior in adolescents made it possible to identify essential characteristics of preventive activities, embodied in the aforementioned principles: the development of a harmonious personality capable of engaging in communication and cooperation in culture and society to develop a holistic understanding of the value of life and health in adolescents in the process of forming personal behavioral strategies (principle of humanization); the formation of values in the younger generation and their implementation based on the needs and conditions of the environment, taking into account social reality, on the basis of social values, which are considered socially approved and acceptable (principle of sociality); taking into account the natural characteristics and level of development of the adolescent when constructing a preventive trajectory to achieve a predictable result in the form of consolidating behavioral strategies aimed at a careful attitude towards one's own life and health (principle of natural conformity). This approach will be of interest to specialists in the field of pedagogy who organize preventive work with adolescents, including the prevention of non-constructive risk-taking behavior.
