Epitaxial Growth of Bi2Se3 Thin Films by Thermal Evaporation for the Application of Electrochemical Biosensors

High-quality Bi2Se3 films are grown on Si via Bi/Se co-evaporation with optimized flux ratio and growth temperature, which is used as the electrodes of electrochemical biosensor. Due to Dirac surface states, the carrier transfer is enhanced at the interface of electrodes and electrolyte, which helps to achieve sensitive detection of gene fragments. This work presented in article number 2400322 by Pengcheng Mao, Yanbo Yang, Junfeng Han, and co-workers establishes a route for topological-material-based biosensors to advanced clinical diagnostics.
