Research Progress on Corrosion-Resistant Micro-Arc Oxidation Superhydrophobic Composite Film Layers
Abstract: Metallic materials have a wide range of applications in industry, but corrosion of metallic materials can significantly reduce service life. Micro-arc oxidation (MAO) superhydrophobic film layer shows significant corrosion resistance, waterproofing and other characteristics; industrial applications are particularly suitable for maintaining clean, dirt-resistant occasions, such as automotive parts, building materials, ships, etc. The article mainly reviews the method of preparing superhydrophobic composite coatings based on micro-arc oxidation coatings to improve the defects of traditional superhydrophobic coatings, such as poor bonding with the substrate. Three types of micro- arc oxidation superhydrophobic composite film preparation methods are highlighted: adjustment of micro-arc oxidation process parameters (electrical parameters, electrolyte, additives), surface- covered composite film preparation methods (sol-gel, coating, self-assembly), physicochemical reaction composite film preparation methods (in-situ growth, hydrothermal, solution immersion, electrochemical deposition), as well as several other methods (physical vapour phase deposition, self-plating, laser labelling). deposition, self-templating, laser marking) are discussed to explore the characteristics of various preparation methods, and at the same time, the current defects of corrosion- resistant micro-arc oxidized superhydrophobic composite coatings are summarized, and the development direction of future research is given.
