Colombian startup ecosystem development

The dynamics of Colombia’s position in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index is outlined. The author identifies the factors influencing the change in the country’s Global Index ranking. It is underpinned that strong governmental support appears to be the main positive factor for the local startup ecosystem development. The conclusions are drawn that it is the sharp decrease in investment activity including foreign venture capital that is detrimental for its further blooming.
