The use of radiosurgery in the treatment of patients with single brain metastasis

Stereotactic radiotherapy alone is effective. However, there are limitations in tumor size (up to 2.5 cm) and volume (9.5 cm³). Preoperative stereotactic radiotherapy followed by surgical resection is advisable for larger tumors (up to 4.5 cm and 18.9 cm³) with high rates of overall survival and local growth control.
