USO DE UREA Y NITROSHURE EN LA PRODUCCIÓN LECHERA DE VACAS BROWN SWISS-PUNO
The feeding of dairy cows in the Peruvian Altiplano in the dry season, (April - October), shows a low protein content, in natural and cultivated pastures, which causes a decrease in milk production, this has a negative impact on the economic income of the producers. The study was carried out in the Illpa Agricultural Experimental Station of the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) Puno, at 3827 masl. This study aimed to evaluate the response of non-protein nitrogen sources (NNP) urea and nitroshure in the production, the composition of milk, and the benefit-cost ratio in Brown Swiss cows. Twelve Brown Swiss cows in second lactation (134 ± 43.14 days); were raised under an intensive system; their food was based on oat hay, oat silage, as supplemental food, barley bran, molasses, and additives (NNP) were used. A completely random design was used with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions with a total of 12 experimental units. The results show that the treatments based on the addition of NNP in the cows’ food influence significantly the production of the milk. The milk production average per treatments were; nitroshure of 100 g / cow / day, 8.91 kg / day, nitroshure 75 g / cow / day, 7.34 kg / day, urea 75 g / cow / day 7.03 kg / day, and finally the control group, 6.94 kg / day.
