Experimental Study and Theoretical Analysis of the Mechanical Properties of Aramid Fiber-Reinforced Polymer–Bamboo Composites
This study explores the mechanical properties of aramid fiber-reinforced polymer–bamboo composites, focusing on the effects of slenderness ratio, cloth ratio and compression direction. Experimental results show that aramid fiber-reinforced polymer enhances compressive strength in the radial and tangential directions of laminated bamboo lumber and improves buckling stability at higher slenderness ratios. For laminated bamboo lumber with a slenderness ratio of 3.5, aramid fiber-reinforced polymer significantly increases compressive strength and mitigates crack formation and delamination. The compressive strength equations developed in this research align well with the experimental data, providing a robust framework for understanding the structural performance of aramid fiber-reinforced polymer–bamboo composites. These findings highlight the potential of aramid fiber-reinforced polymer in enhancing the durability and load-bearing capacity of sustainable construction materials.
