Maxwell equations in rotating cosmic string space-time and the gravitational magnetoelectric effect

In this paper, our focus is on examining the characteristics of the electromagnetic field tensor within the framework of topological defect space-time originating from a spinning cosmic string. Our objective is to evaluate Maxwell’s vacuum field equations governing the associated electric and magnetic fields. Additionally, we extend our analysis to consider a rotating cosmic string space-time. Employing a similar procedural approach, we derive the electromagnetic field tensor and corresponding Maxwell’s vacuum field equations. In both cases, we investigate the influence of the topological defect of a spinning and rotating cosmic string on the electromagnetic field tensor and Maxwell field equations, noting significant deviations from the outcomes obtained in Minkowski flat space. Finally, we explore the gravitational magnetoelectric effect and discuss this phenomenon by considering spinning and rotating cosmic string space-times as illustrative examples.
