Performance Analysis of 5G Enabled Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) Services for Secured Smart City
The performance of 5G-enabled Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) services is examined in this study to improve a city’s smart security infrastructure. The investigation compares the effects of 5G, 4G, and conventional Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems while assessing the blocking likelihood across several communication channels. The benefit of 5G in sustaining dependable communication over greater distances is demonstrated by an analysis of key performance indicators like Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) versus distance. The effectiveness of 5G in cutting down on delays and enhancing service continuity is further demonstrated by an analysis of the mean waiting time versus the variance of session duration for each technology. The findings show that 5G outperforms LMR and 4G in terms of decreased blocking likelihood and shorter waiting times, making it an excellent solution for mission-critical communication in urban security applications. This research underscores the potential of 5G to support advanced public safety services and smart city initiative.
