Fairness and Trust in 6G Marketplaces of Softwarized Resources
6G will enable sophisticated services to be created by composing softwarized resources sold in 6G marketplaces. For example, new innovative application developers may want to create advanced immersive communications through purchasing holograms and associated machine learning models. However, as these softwarized resources may reside on-premises, cloud, or at the edge of the sellers' networks, allowing untrusted buyers access to these network resources may jeopardize the security of the sellers' resources and networks. Thus, sellers will prefer to sell to trusted buyers, hence starving out new application developers with no transaction history and compromising the vibrancy of the marketplace from the sellers' perspective as well. Building on our previous work, we present a unified framework towards incentivizing and enforcing fairness in 6G marketplaces of softwarized resources, taking into account fairness considerations and multiple kinds of trust. Our results using simulation show that fairness can be achieved in this setting without requiring a priori knowledge of sellers' rewards/preferences, which are highly likely to be proprietary.
