Design and Implementation of Data Encryption Mechanism in Fiber Channel Network
The rapid growth of mobile internet is driving the expansion of big data. The massive amount of data generated by mobile interconnections is stored on remote servers using Fiber Channel (FC) Storage Area Networks (SANs). Our literature study reveals that a significant portion of this data is either stored in plaintext or experiences reduced throughput when encryption devices are integrated into the network, posing potential security risks. To address the vulnerabilities of plaintext data storage and improve throughput performance, we design a high-performance data encryption device using advanced FPGA technology. Positioned between the server and the disk array, this encryption device secures the data written to the disk array. It achieves a data throughput rate of up to 11.21 Gbps by adopting high-performance hardware platform and designing pipeline-based data processing. It also improves the ability of data encryption device to resist side channel attack by designing diverse SM4 circuit consist of different S-boxes.
