This article describes the role that supervisors play in supporting student growth and well-being and introduces seven essential supervisor characteristics meant to serve as a self-reflective guide to ensure supervisor readiness to support the whole student. Conclusion: When preparing to engage in clinical supervision, supervisors consider these seven essential supervisor characteristics as a guide to reflect on their readiness to effectively foster student growth, mental health, and well-being.
