Trends and Connections in Studies on Access to Justice in Forest Regions: A Bibliometric and Content Analysis

Objective: This study aimed to characterize the academic production on access to justice in forest regions, using a bibliometric and content analysis approach. It sought to identify the main trends and gaps in the literature, as well as the predominant approaches in the analyzed studies. Method: The research used the Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and Scielo databases to collect scientific articles, applying bibliometric techniques and content analysis. The data were analyzed using the VOSviewer and Iramuteq software, allowing the identification of patterns, term co-occurrence networks, and the main thematic focuses of the studies. Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that the literature on access to justice in forest regions focuses on a specific population inhabiting these areas, particularly Indigenous peoples, and does not establish connections with other traditional communities, such as riverine populations, quilombolas, and agro-extractivists. Additionally, an explicit alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 of the UN 2030 Agenda was found to be absent, representing a gap in the research. Originality/Value: The research highlights gaps in the literature on access to justice in forest regions, the need to include other traditional communities in addition to indigenous peoples and the importance of alignment with SDG 16 to strengthen more inclusive public policies.
