CARE: An Empathy-Based Approach

Student employees are vital to IT organizations in higher education. While some individuals may undervalue the contributions from student members of our work communities, the fact is that students are the reason our institutions exist. All faculty and staff share a responsibility as fellow educators to ensure students gain the skills required to succeed once they matriculate. Regardless of the size or structure of an institution, some basic principles and practices relating to student employee development can be widely applied.
