Shared Computers and VDI Systems in the BYOD Era

Kyoto Institute of Technology will start full-fledged BYOD from April 2025, and all new students will be required to have a laptop. Therefore, conventional shared computers in the seminar room will need to be operated on the assumption that students have their own laptops. Shared computers are scheduled to be replaced in August 2027, since all first through third-year students, who are the main users of shared computers, will have laptops. This paper describes the proposed utilization of shared computers and the VDI system after BYOD is completed.
