Abstract

Solid electrolyte La[Formula: see text]Si[Formula: see text]Ga[Formula: see text]Mg[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text][Formula: see text] was prepared via a microwave-assisted sol-gel method, and the properties of the samples were characterized. The chemical composition, crystal structure, and microscopic morphology of the materials were analyzed by FT-IR, TG/DSC, XRD and SEM, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was utilized to evaluate the oxygen ionic conductivity of La[Formula: see text]Si[Formula: see text]Ga[Formula: see text]Mg[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text][Formula: see text] solid electrolyte ceramic membranes at a sintering temperature of 1400[Formula: see text]C. The conductivity of the La[Formula: see text]Si[Formula: see text]Ga[Formula: see text]Mg[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text][Formula: see text] solid electrolyte ceramic was enhanced by Ga and Mg doping. At 800[Formula: see text]C, the conductivity of the La[Formula: see text]Si[Formula: see text]Ga[Formula: see text]Mg[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]([Formula: see text][Formula: see text]0.3) solid electrolyte reaches a maximum value of 0.067 S ⋅ cm[Formula: see text], and the activation energy is as low as [Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]0.612 eV. The La[Formula: see text]Si[Formula: see text]Ga[Formula: see text]Mg[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text][Formula: see text] electrolyte is expected to have good application prospects in the field of IT-SOFCs.
