Detection and molecular characterization of dengue among patients suspected of having malaria in Timika, Central Papua, Indonesia
Dengue significantly contributes to febrile illness among patients suspected of having malaria in Timika, Central Papua. Virus importation from surrounding regions is likely to contribute to the dispersion of DENV into eastern parts of Indonesia. Our findings reveal the underestimation of this viral disease in a highly malaria-endemic area.
