Analysis of intra-patient and inter-patient molecular heterogeneity in patients with metastatic melanoma: an exploratory study of Italian cases in a single center
Background: The study of molecular discordance between primary and metastasis by analysing tissues from the same patient is necessary to truly understand the mechanism of metastatic progression. Most published studies analysing the intrapatient discordance mainly focused on driver genes and only a small number of patients have been characterized with larger mutational profiles.
