EURO-NMSC: Modern Treatment Usage and Outcome of Patients with Advanced Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer (NMSC) – A Registry Based Cohort Study

Background: Locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (lacSCC) and basal cell carcinoma (laBCC) are prognostically severe malignant conditions of high medical need. Scientific progress and development of improved treatment strategies are hampered by insufficient standards of staging and classification, e.g. by the current TNM staging system. Furthermore, many centers use different reporting measures for classification, which limits interpretability between studies. The European Association of Dermatological Oncology (EADO) has proposed new standards for classifying laSCC and laBCC, that need to be developed further for validation and proof of usability and clinical impact.
