Fibrosarcomatous transformation of dermatofibrossarcoma protuberans: a rare but relevant phenomenon
Background: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare dermal based sarcoma tumor locally aggressive. The fibrosarcomatous transformation of the DFSP (DFSP-FS) is observed in 10-20% of the cases and has a relevant prognostic impact, with higher rates of metastasis and local recurrence, highlighting the importance of its diagnosis. We report a case of DFSP-FS of the thigh in a young patient.
