Real-World Use of Cemiplimab in Advanced/Metastatic Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Conclusions:To the best of our knowledge this is the first case report to describe cemiplimab-induced HLH treated with an interleukin-1 inhibitor in a patient with locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. This case highlights the importance of a high index of suspicion for HLH in patients receiving this treatment and to enable prompt diagnosis and management clinicians should be cognizant of the Hscore.Mortality from ICI-induced HLH is reported at 15% though incidence is likely much higher due to underdiagnosing and underreporting of HLH.Early treatment with interleukin-1 inhibitor may influence clinical outcome without reducing the efficacy of ICI.
