Exceptional response to Pembrolizumab, Olaparib, and intrathecal Nivolumab in refractory Stage IV Melanoma
start of a revolution that is now changing the lives of thousands of patients with melanoma and other cancers. We are also part of MIPAC, Melanoma International Patient Advocates Coalition, reunited by the dearest Valerie Guild, and now by her dauther Samantha, President of Aim at Melanoma.Dr. Kirkwood presented me to Valerie Guild and from the start we worked in creating a net to create awareness, to guide patients and inform them about treatment options, and to help researchers in clinical trials to find a cure. She, in memory of her daughter.Me to remember my husband Pierluigi who passed at 37 years old leaving me with two little children of 12 and 9 years old.We are also part of the Global Melanoma Coalition and our main objectives are -to prevent melanoma -to inform the population and create awareness about this deadly cancer -to direct patiens to specialized Dermatologists or Oncologist (we believe in the neeed of training dermato-oncologists), and to support patients during treatments -last but not the least, we help researchers find patients eager to try new drugs or treatments not as "their last resource" but also as a way to contribute to their own good and to find a cure to melanoma. Methods:We support Patients and their Caregivers during the difficult time of taking the decision, during the treatment, with sometimes annoying side effects, and psycologically back them while being sorely tried and facing a though challenge. We use webinars, social media posts and websites to arrive to our Patients. Results: Thousands of Patients are empowered to take the right decisions Conclusions: We hope and work with a strong belief and firm conviction that together with Doctors and Patients, we could find a cure to melanoma in the near future.
