Long-term recurrence and disease specific mortality in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma with involved or close primary excision margins
mm, which increased to 96 mm at the week 9 reassessment.Despite this progression, the decision was made to continue the treatment until alternative options could be identified.Surprisingly, a rapid clinical improvement followed, culminating in a complete clinical response by week 18.Imaging reassessment at that time demonstrated significant tumor shrinkage, with the total diameter reduced to 54 mm.Conclusions: This case represents a rare instance of pseudoprogression in a patient with SCC.As novel agents continue to be incorporated into the treatment of advanced tumors, such uncommon phenomena may become more frequently observed and should be carefully considered in patient management strategies.
