Features of Social Criticism in the Poetry of Usama ibn Munqidh (D. 584 AH)
The research aims to study the features of social criticism in one of the poets of the Ayyubid era, namely Osama bin Munqidh, the poet and prince who was known to be one of the most important poets of the Crusades,to the point that his poems in those battles were considered important historical documents. The poet cast his penetrating gaze on his society at that time, shedding light on its faults and revealing its diseases and weaknesses. His role was not limited to mere diagnosis, but rather went beyond that to provide us in some of his texts with an accurate description of the treatment with which he treated these negative phenomena in society.
