Haemostatic imbalance in a patient with psoriasis
Abstract Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease that if left untreated, can impair most of the systems, especially the haemostatic system. We report a 37-year-old male, a known case of psoriasis who presented with severe headache, vomiting, right-sided weakness and numbness following intake of thrombopoietin receptor agonists for immune thrombocytopenia. Computed tomography scan and magnetic resonance imaging revealed cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. This case report illustrates the haemostatic complications in a patient with psoriasis.
