MARVEL analysis of high-resolution rovibrational spectra of 16O12C17O

16 O 12 C 17 O is the fourth most abundant isotopologue of carbon dioxide. As part of this study, a total of 16 223 rovibrational transitions, 9822 unique ones, measured for the ground electronic state of CO 2 , were collected from 31 articles, corresponding to the limited wavenumber range of 634–12 727 cm −1 . The measured transitions span the polyads P = 0 − 17 , where P = 2 v 1 + v 2 + 3 v 3 , and v 1 , v 2 , and v 3 are the normal-mode quantum numbers corresponding to the symmetric stretch, linear bend, and antisymmetric stretch motions. Following a careful validation of the compiled rovibrational transitions data, a set of 5036 empirical rovibrational energy levels has been determined. Comparison of the empirical energy-level data of this study with those in the CDSD-296 and NASA Ames-2021 line lists shows good general agreement. • Measured transitions for 17O substituted CO 2 molecule are analyzed for 31 sources. • 9822 transitions are processed using MARVEL to give 5036 empirical rovibrational energies. • Comparisons with the recent NASA Ames line list and CDSD-296K gives good agreement.
